Book Reading: Cinderblock Houses by Krista Creel In-Person
Krista Creel received her undergraduate degree in creative writing from the UofM and her graduate degree in journalism. Her book, Cinderblock Houses, is a powerful collection of eight short stories with a common theme of young girls and women in the rural south, spanning topics of mental illness, ambition, death, and hope. It builds a picture of the many social and emotional challenges women face and how they learn to rise above them
