UM3D Summer Institute 2024: Dive in & Learn Pt 2! In-Person
This year, Summer Institute, UM3D, is hosting a one-day open house event to equip you with the latest tools for a successful fall semester. Join us on Thursday, August 15, noon to 3:00 p.m., at McWherter Library to learn how to leverage Microsoft Teams for effortless course management and have conversations about AI in the classroom. Event sessions will include “Getting Started with Microsoft Teams,” “Advanced Tips and Tricks for Microsoft Teams,” and “AI in the Classroom.” “Getting Started with Microsoft Teams” will provide a basic introduction to Teams, covering navigation, creating teams and channels, and using key features like chat, video conferencing, and document sharing. “Advanced Tips and Tricks for Microsoft Teams” will cover advanced tips and tricks that will help improve your productivity, collaboration, and overall experience while using Teams. For “AI in the Classroom,” join Librarian Instructors from the University Libraries for an engaging demonstration on the CLEAR Framework for enhancing information literacy through prompt engineering. Educators like you can leverage this technique to teach students essential critical thinking skills in the age of AI. This session will explore practical strategies to help explain the CLEAR acronym, a valuable framework for understanding, creating, and assessing AI prompts and output. View the UM3D event calendar>
